Bullywarp
As we await the full release of the Avatars of Fate, we have a smaller taste of one of our favorite genres of monster; something normal from the classic roster, but worse. The bullywarp are a twist on the normal bullywug, in particular a twist perpetrated by the forces of the Far Realm. Bullywarps are aberrations bent to a state of impossible egotism, an ever-growing hivemind convinced of and driven by their own ‘perfection’. Eventually, the hovering mind-frogs aim to float away among the stars, off to assimilate intergalactic bullywugs… somehow. Just remember that being corrupted by forces from beyond the realms doesn’t necessarily make them smart.
If you want to join our intergalactic frog-swarm, you can join our Patreon, where we’ll be distributing applications for the omniphibious hivemind just as soon as we figure out how to psychically breath in space. To keep tabs on our progress, regarding interstellar travel or new homebrew, our Discord has all our updates as they come out, and we’re happy to answer any questions you may have, space-frog related or otherwise.
Bullywarp
Few pay much mind to the tribes of frog-men known as bullywugs—except when their despoiling ways encroach upon more civilized communities. But few truly understand the risk these creatures pose when they are left to meddle in powers beyond their comprehension unimpeded. One possible outcome—the infusing of their spiritual leaders with parasitic creatures from the far realms—creates a new being, with protruding cranium and crude psychic powers.
Assimilators. Known as bullywarps, these meldings of frog-man and aberration become the first of many, the newly formed horror spreading the corruption to the rest of their tribe without hesitation. With each bullywug infected, its simple mind subsumed into what quickly becomes a single, fragmented consciousness.
Big Heads. Bullywarps share their senses and memories, thus experiencing a heightened, delusional sense of self-importance beyond that of a normal bullywug. Their ego is so strong it all but compels any assembly of bullywarps to spread their ‘perfection’ to other tribes, and to destroy anything which cannot feed or be subsumed by their collective insanity. The ultimate goal of the bullywarps is to prove their superiority by ascending into space itself, granting them entire new worlds to bully.
