To help everyone have some a pet or seven, we’ve tuned up and compiled a few magic items to make finding the perfect four-legged (or more!) friend that much simpler for your table. Bugyububol's Amazing-Looking Lure
Wondrous item, rare
This shiny red sphere is made of a firm, yet springy material and is surprisingly easy to throw great distances.
As an action you can brandish the lure, call out to a creature within 30 feet of you, and throw the lure to an unoccupied space within 300 feet that you can see. The lure flies unerringly to that location, even around corners and obstacles, but not through total cover.
The creature you called out to must make a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw. Beasts have disadvantage on this save and a creature has advantage on the saving throw if there is no safe path to reach the chosen space. On a failure the creature is charmed by the lure and compelled to use its entire movement on each of its turns to move toward the lure’s space. The charm effect ends when the creature reaches the lure’s space, cannot get any closer, or takes damage. Once a creature stops being charmed by the lure, it is immune to the lure’s effects for 24 hours.
Collar of Domestication
Wondrous item, very rare (requires attunement)
This studded leather collar holds a golden tag emblazoned with an insignia of obedience and order. As an action, you can place the collar on a willing or incapacitated beast or monstrosity that is Large or smaller. The collar magically adjusts to fit the creature. If the creature’s CR is higher than 1⁄4 of your level (rounded down), or if the creature has an Intelligence score of 5 or higher, the collar breaks and cannot be used again until the next dawn.
While you are attuned to the collar and it is fastened to a creature, that creature is charmed by you and will follow your commands so long as they do not go against the creature’s nature. In combat, the creature acts during your turn.
The creature can use an action to attempt to break loose from the collar. If it does, it makes a DC 18 Wisdom saving throw. If it succeeds, the collar breaks and cannot be used again until the next dawn. If it fails, the collar remains fastened to the creature and it cannot attempt to break the collar again until the next dawn.
Trinket of the Tiny
Wondrous item, rare (requires attunement)
This diminutive piece of jewelry comes in the form of a piercing, pendant, cufflink, or other accessory object and is modeled after a Tiny beast.
While wearing this trinket, you can understand and verbally communicate with Tiny creatures, even if you do not share a language with such a creature or those creatures do not normally possess a language. Tiny creatures of the same kind as the trinket are friendly to you, unless you or your allies harm them.
The trinket has 7 charges for the following properties and regains 1d4 + 3 expended charges each day at dawn.
Tiny Companion. You expend 1 charge to cast the spell find familiar. Your new familiar must take the form of the creature that your trinket is modeled after, using a stat block determined by the DM.
Tiny Tongues. You expend 1 charge to cast tongues targeting a Tiny creature.
Swarm of Tiny Champions. You expend 2 charges to summon a swarm of the creatures of the same kind as the trinket. The DM has this swarm’s statistics. It is friendly to you and follows your commands. The swarm scatters after one minute or when it is reduced to zero hit points. You can have a maximum of one swarm created in this way at a time.
